alexandra leaving.

Music for (extremely) rainy days: try to play this and this simultaneously. Flawless. It’s almost like the sound of Alexandra leaving. That Alexandra who likes exquisite music. That Alexandra who slips between the sentries of the heart. That Alexandra who sleeps upon his satin. That Alexandra who in the end is leaving with her Lord. And once the sound of her steps has faded away, you can almost hear Cohen’s voice hanging from the silence the saddest lyrics ever written: “Say goodbye to Alexandra leaving/ Say goodbye to Alexandra lost”. If Cohen ever imagined a sound for his “Alexandra leaving”, this would be it. The sound of her steps melting away, the sound of the demons in his head screaming for second life, the sound of “goodbye”.
